We have been making kites. This is something Maori children did in the old days. It was lots of fun flying them.

We have been working with playdough to help develop our finger control and we made our names with dough.

Hi and Welcome

Room 5 has been working hard in writing and used First Steps "I would look like this" to create princess pictures. The teacher read a story about a princess without showing any pictures. The children build an image in their heads as the teacher read and then drew a picture of their princess. Everyone was able to share their pictures and describe characteristics of their princess.
Here are their princess pictures. We hope you notice the differences.

Keiko's visit

We have had a lovely time with Keiko and last week she showed us how to do a tea ceremony and how to wear a kimono.
